American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS)

Your generous support has the power to change lives!

The American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) continues to share the Good News, start churches and schools, respond to special needs and speak out for social and economic justice. In partnership with American Baptist Foundation we recognize that together we are the hands, feet and heart of Jesus in a world that overlooks and ignores the pain and suffering of many around us.

Please consider the following ministries in your plans:
  • Children in Poverty – Over 16 million children live in poverty in the United States and Puerto Rico. We can provide a brighter future.
  • Disabilities Ministries – Support opportunities for employment, training, education and service for disabled persons, while also enabling them to connect with local, state and national support networks.
  • Disaster Response – Hurricanes, tsunamis and other natural occurrences may be short-lived, but their effects on human life and property last, most likely, many years. Provide assistance to those in urgent need.
  • Missional Church Project – Partner in this effort as our churches form stronger bonds in their communities through collaborative projects.

There are many more opportunities to partner with us. Your planned gifts through American Baptist Foundation, naming the American Baptist Home Mission Societies can strengthen important ministries like these mentioned above.

American Baptist International Ministries (International Ministries)

Support our Ministry

International Ministries seeks to glorify God in all the earth by crossing cultural boundaries to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Beginning with Burma in 1814, this out-reach now extends to more than 70 countries worldwide. Mission efforts by missionaries and national partners include: carrying out evangelism, training church leaders and starting new churches, confronting slavery, promoting health, encouraging economic development, providing education, and seeking peace and offering refuge. International Ministries enables local churches to participate in global outreach through missionary support, missionary partnership networks, global prayer networks as well as short and long-term mission service.

Please consider the following areas of ministry in your plans:
  • Economic Development and Disaster Relief – IM is working to build and strengthen local economies throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America by training and mentoring local leaders in areas of agriculture, finance and technology.
  • Education – The importance of basic education lies at the very heart of our American Baptist values. Its impact on the lives of people around the world cannot be overestimated.
  • Health – IM medical missionaries, including doctors, nurses, and therapists combine their medical expertise and Christian values to make the hands of Christ, the Great Physician, a reality in the 21st century.
  • Evangelism – IM has been committed to walking alongside those who have never heard the message of God's love shown in Jesus Christ through teaching, preaching and ministering.
  • Peace and Refuge – IM stands with victims of violence who are seeking refuge from persecution in their home countries.
  • Human Trafficking – Today millions of men, women and children are struggling to rise out of poverty and improve their lives. Out of desperation, many of them become vulnerable to deception and false promises of a better life and find themselves in abusive employment situations.
  • Theological Education – IM missionaries train future church leaders in seminaries, Bible schools, pastoral institutes and in informal and non-traditional settings.

There are many more opportunities to partner with us. Your planned gifts through American Baptist Foundation, naming International Ministries can strengthen important ministries like these mentioned above.
